Making things has always been a nice escape from work. I've always enjoyed working with timber, but living in Sydney, with only a single garage, didn't allow the space needed for the tools I wanted. From this I stumbled into knife making. The "shop" footprint needed to make knives was much smaller, and like many other people who start out in the craft, could be done reasonably cheaply. Some 1075 carbon steel, files and a file jig and I was away. Fast forward a couple of years and the shop has expanded as my love of making knives has grown. Each knife completed is a step towards making the next knife better.
